Everything done, nothing won

For second year in a row, Pagewood did play the semifinals, after end up in the top of the league. This year with a much better difference as we end up leaders with 4 points of difference with our closest chaser (The Eagles). One year ago, we had to share this position with Heffron and Easts.
Great improvement....but those statics will became only numbers for the memory if this sunday the reds come back home with they're hands empty. Will this means that is been a bad season? Far from that. Pagewood is the only team (with the persmission of the greek birds) that has a more defined style of play, or at least more idea.

Individually the team did a huge step forward in all the lines, as each one of our team players did had some kind of improvement tactically or technically.
- Jason Break the barrier of 20 goals, 7 more than the last year.
- Ross is on the way to get 20 MVP points if he can get some in the final. With 6-8 games LESS
- Carlos has scored or participated in 15 goals in his first season.
- Pete did score more goals in one game than in the entire past season, without mention  his assistances.
-  Cam found his "nieche" position as a defensive and creator midfielder.
- George and Ian are a secure barrier in defense supported with 2 good fullbacks.
- Marco scored and created more goals already than the last season.
- Jack, Pat, and Darren are really good incorporations, and during the entire season they showed good commitment and skills
- Foff was reconverted as a fullback, increasing the security in the defensive line, and becoming a much more confident player.
- Kenny has become a key player, much more incisive than the last season

Wow, how many flowers right? Everything is pink at the moment, until sunday at 2:30pm.

I don't know how many players are going to show up on friday for the only training session before the game, unfortunately friday is a tricky day as a lot of people work, but as much as its possible we should have a good attendance!

Olympic Eagles are pumped, motivated, they are been thinking in this final since they beat us 3-2. Traininng, and working towards the final. They have been training in astro turf pitches, with a coach. If any of you guys think that this is done, you are all wrong. This is a simple mathematic thing, like 2+2 is 4.
Overconfidence, or cockyness can be our biggest enemy for this sunday, and I drop this now. It's NOT going to be a walk in the park. We have a big team, strong in all the lines, but we are NOT unbeatable. We are not the king of the mambo, and don't get fooled for our last result. 8-1. That was one in a million, against a weak team, more agger to play kung fu than football. Against the greeks, we will find a really strong and organised defensive line, with strong and skilled midfielders, and a lot of powerfire in attack. Just a quick reminder of how that short and talented striker did a magic dance over some players in the last defeat 3-2. Including myself.

I know, pessimistic and boring Marco. But somebody has to say those things. Because they are all true. They want this trophy as much as we do, but they are been working towards it much more that we have done.

We are playing a final sunday, all or nothing, as simple as it sounds. Every mistake will be paid in blood this sunday. Is no way back, or is not next game anymore. If we are not mentally and phisically prepared, we are NOT going to win.

On the other side, if we play together, as we usually do, if we stick to our plan, as we usually do, and if we use our tools wisely, we will succeed.

I personally want the trophy, what about you? and if you want it, what are you going to do for make a difference? Exacly.....think about it.

We are great, guys, we are. We are the league leaders. Now. Let's become the champions.

It's all on you....

Pagewood Botany FC 8 Vs Redfern Raiders 1 "AKA Dungeons and Dragons"

Pagewood Botany FC 8 Vs Redfern Raiders 1 "AKA Dungeons and Dragons"

With a generous crowd, more than we used too, everything looks more exciting, but if this is also a sudden death game,  your brunch couldn't be better. Lucky for us, the girls brought wine, and Wlad was there to keep the order with the drinks, alongside with the legendary Stu. The Idol. The only fan that we have. He show up with the Pagewood polo doesn't matter how, and with him the "In live" match. Buy some popcorns because the game is about to start.

Legendary talk today, and a top level of motivation foretop the initial whistle. Linesman and good referees, much necessary today against a team that master the roundkick and the double elbow tiger punch.

With the Following Lineup, Sam line of 4 with Jack, George, Ian, Darren, 4 Midfielders with Marco and Pete in the wings and Cam and Ross in the middle. Jason and Carlos pushing ahead, the team had the same idea than the last games. Patience, move the ball with sense, by keeping the possession and making that possession, EFFECTIVE.

Demolishing start. First 15min 2-0. What?

Redfern has a 2 or 3 good players. Players than can move the team or at least do something with the ball that can generate problems to the Red's. The thing is that they don't get enough "pasta" as they're mates play only in one mode. Kick and run. It didn't took long to score a goal. They conceded a free kick, Ross spot Jason, and with a great parabolae, found Jason in the middle of the box, who with the back of his head, he scored the 1-0. Min 5 and the panorama was looking good.
Before we could even settle down, calm down the emotions, a quick triangulation in the midfield ended up with a ball to Pete in the left flank, just a few meters across the midfield line. He sees Carlos, moving in between lines, and with a beautiful pass, leave Carlos completely alone and in the run. The colombian didn't loose the chill, and flicked the ball over the keeper, 8 goal in his first season, great definition for the 2-0. Can you imagine a better way to start a semi final sudden death?

Edward Leg-scissors.

The rest of the first half was a monopoly of the ball for Pagewood, for except a few minutes. The red's with a very solid midfield this time, kept the pressure high and the lines together when defending. Cam, Ross, Pete and Marco where a compact barrier that helped the defensive line. Also, the MD was totally committed with his positioning, specially Cam, with a more restricted role, like against the eagles in the league game, and Ross dropping passes here and there, Redfern didn't had any other option than decide to kick some ankles and knees. Delightful job if your legs are not there. Unfortunately for the reds they're legs where on the way. The game, although that secure was being played on a unstable dungeon, where Redfern players where getting more and more intense. It has to be hard be overplayed with a 2-0 ZAS kind of thing in the first 45 minutes. It was a semifinal after all.

The awaken Red Dragon. 2-1.

The second 45 min where simply the best of this season, 6 goals, as easy as it looks.
Redfern punched first but, as they turn down a few revolutions down, and tried for once to play football. But the reality was that Pagewood never lost the control and the timing of the game. Ross, Surrounded by Cam, Kenny and Marco won in touch and control, over a unorganised line from our opponent. They scored more for our mistakes than for they're chances. The goal was a standard "you take it, no you do it..." in between 3 defenders, obviously his striker, that is not a bad player, took the present and score the 2-1. That injection of morale for Redfern almost get rewarded, when 2 min after the goal they could score from a corner, but they didn't score, and that could had change the development of the game, or....maybe not.
The reality is that the team didn't care much about what happened. By the way, Ross was in the bench bleeding after another NRL blocking over him.

20 goals, goles, golazos. The Crane

Because Pagewood didn't change his idea, the players kept targeting offensive actions. The lines where now working at full power. Let's see what am I talking about. Darren was playing without opposition in the LB as he was totally taking over his opponent wing. Having that superiority, he can play wisely with the ball in control. He can feed Ross or Cam, always in between lines. Those two, can distribute back waiting for the team to open and stretch the field, or instead push forward and play quick with the wings. Transitions. Fast or Slow. And through transitions Evan got a situation in the right wing, just in between the midfield line and the box, space enough for break the lines if his cross was good enough. Oh it was. Don't panic, as Evan has a glove in his foot and leaves a goal to Jason, who is out of control, supermotivated and leader of this team.

Karma

The 4-1 came from another quick transition in between lines, Kenny in the left opens to Marco, with spaces, he turns around, and starts a conduction, winning meters, opens to Jason, with a beautiful pass with his right, and leaves Jason in the right side of the field in the one on one with the keeper, but he crosses to Marco?... no! The first men there was Kenny, that did a massive run coming from the defensive line, he is going to score but, the defender got first, with a poor touch, embarrassing himself he put the ball inside his net.

The flying Titti 5-1

Pagewood decided to go for the kill and show off a little of his full capacity  for the next 20 minutes. All the players where totally switch on and with this, we can go everywhere.
Kenny again, in the midfield this time, drops a loooooong ball to Marco in the left wing, controls, stop close the box, and listens to the sky. And the sky talked back, he brought a flying men, in the opposite side of the box. With a precise cross, Peter had to do the hard part. Jump like a ninja and hit the ball like a pro for score the 5-1 and score a screamer, very similar that the one that scored against Redfern 3 games ago.

6-1 Game, set and match

Ross scored the 6-1 after a penalty, before that, a player for redfern was send off, nothing strange here. The enemy was totally defeated, without a light to follow. If you think that Pagewood was about to be sorry for them and just lay back, you are mistaken.

7th Symphony Of Rosshoven.

Art, is the best way to describe the 7-1. The goal itself was from another galaxy, but the team play behind was delightful too.
A random ball that was going to goal kick, was chased by Carlos, yes, with 6-1 and 7min to go and he chase a random ball. Brutal. Anyway, he of course, get that ball, and with a cold and calculated look around the area, finds Ross, the elemental. He's outside the box, on his toes, expecting that ball. Carlos with a single, sharp, and precise pass, allows Ross to aim the galaxy, coming from behind, outside the box he connects a unstoppable ball. Without any option for the keeper the ball hits the net with power, wild, TNT.

Carnaval. 8-1

The last 5min where even more coloured and full of joy and happiness. Drunks of football, George wanted to score his first goal this season, so he swap himself with Jason. For a moment the Nittes here attacking together, pulling girls like Barney and Ted. Unfortunately the girls where outside the field, so they had to pull goals.
In another attack from the reds, Pete when on the one on one against the keeper, who trying to do a judo movement, messed up the situation, allowing Pete now to assist to...the beast. George. He push the ball inside the net without opposition, a easy trick for the Nittes brothers. Humiliating 8-1.

Not much to add from a game that will be remembered, biggest victory for the past 2 seasons. We going to the finals, pumped, with hunger of a trophy, that we could reach it a season ago, but....we are back!

1-0 Jason (Ross) 2-0 Carlos (Peter) 2-1 Redfern 3-1 Jason (Evan) 4-1 OG (Jason)
5-1 Peter (Marco) 6-1 Ross (p) 7-1 Ross (Carlos) 8-1 George (Peter)

RED: Dirty kicks and unnecessary tackles

Redfern strategy and dirty tactics where useless in front of a team working at 120%, but some of the challenges, where totally unnecessary for a semifinal. First yellow card in the first 10 min, they where going and aiming to damage. That's a fact, but it is a fact to that we are over this. Against a display of dirty and random football, the winning team displayed a well organised system, that lead them to make Redfern look like students.

ORANGE: Last pass to Sam.

Sometimes, too many perhaps, the players doesn't use the keeper when having or experimenting some "troubles" or pressure. A well delivered player to Sam, who is a keeper that can play with his feet, gives us time to recover positions and relocate players. Also he can play long balls with precision. We should balance more those moments where we only can do 2 things when we are under the pressure, 1- kick the ball out and loose possession and position or 2- pass to Sam and start from 0.

GREEN: Are you kidding me?

Seriously? Just pick any single minute of the game and you have a reason to be with the green colour. Not many mistakes, just one, and it was goal. But well, we scored 8 today right? Now, we need to keep this intensity up, if we look back, we only lost 1 game in the past 8-9 games. The rest, 2 draws and the rest....victory's. As a league leaders, we need to take the cup back to Pagewoodlandia.

Sam 9: Scoundrel. He got the hard task to pick so many balls from behind the goals, because Redfern strikes where a bluff, one they get more dangerous in the second half, he was there, specially in the corners. Firm hands, but they let him down in the goal, a lonely chance.

Jack 9:  Skirmisher. Solid game for this lad, in the first half with a more conservative role, had to deal with the best player of Redfern. Nailed. Not a single chance from the striker. In the second half  became much more dangerous, as he increased is looting tasks among the right flank. Starred in one of the plays of the game, after a incredible run almost from box to box, he got the mojo, and let at least 5 players behind, all of them looking around without know what to do.

George 9: Smackdown. World record in tackles and attacks stopped, the CB also decided to try some new WWE tricks. The Redfern strikers are probably in therapy or in UCI, so all in all another day at work for him...but today was different, he also had the pleasure of scoring a goal, and assisted by his brother. Like a romantic movie, this ends up in a grand finale. George is ready.

Ian 9: Winter soldier. The soldier that never stops, did a game that is already recorded in DVD. Our Soldier doesn't need's shields, he scares the opponent with his presence. Always a tough guy, he also knows how to be a gentleman when moving the ball and starting the team passing process. His serenity makes everyone feel good, and from there, the team plays better. Is the boss

Darren 9: Tiger shark. He still chewing parts of redfern players. After that he will take a look around, moving in between lines, and being involved in so many team plays. Once he's happy, he will come back to his waters in line with George and Ian. Fantastic moving the ball around, being one more in the ball circulation. His second half in defence can be found in youtube. National geographic: The Darren Shark.

Cam 9: Lego. Cam found pieces of lego everywhere today and he did a lot of fun things with it. First he set up a first line of defence behind Ross, being the first men to go to stop a contrattack. He also did and create so many tunnels and bridges to link lines that where only able to his vision. Always creating highways of passes to the wings, he makes the offensive tasks easier.

Ross 10: Apocalethic. A mix in between apocalyptical and poetic describes best Ross football. Doing "roulettes", and breaking some hips with his moves, he controlled the midfield like shakespeare control his lines, but also bring some chaos over Redfern when having spaces. 1-0 come from a tasty cross from a free kick, not the only that he delivered today. Scored a penalty for the 6-1. For the 7-1 he left a insulting, delightful, and pornographic strike from outside the box. In shape and ready for be important in the final.

Pete 10: Pete Wonder. On his better moment of the season, he take a hint at Redfern to deliver a breaking pass to Carlos, for the 2-0. Because he believes that Pagewood can be champion, he plays with confidence and determination, the run in the 5-1 calling for the ball was fantastic and well timed, from there he performed his Pete Norris flying kick and scored again against Redfern. Always looking for the family he showed his generosity serving a goal to his brother Beast. After the game he will sign some autograph over some girls tittis. Rockstar

Kenny 9: Podracer. Like the star wars racing engine, Kenny races in the flanks with speed and elegancy. Very fancy when deciding what to wear when playing football, for him it matter if use a dribbling or a classy pass. Able to be in position when defending, his agility make him able to cover a big area. After the race, he will run a few miles more in Tattoine. From his boots started the 4 and 5 goal, and also did some damage. His combinative skills are taught in the schools of algebra.

Marco 9: Ninja turtle. He played the 4 roles, ST, RB, LW, MD. All of them with the same determination to do a good job. He practiced some martial arts with the Redfern Foot Clan players. Because Master Splinter taught him well, he is able to get away with his quick foot work. Using his nunchakus he fought every ball that was on his way and helped to move the ball with sense and good criteria. The pass in the 5-1 looks like a secure and best valuable argument to show to the Immigration minister to let him stay here. Peripheral vision for the spaniard, that can spot a player or a single lady doesn't matter where they are.

Jason 10: Sexual. He got cheeky very soon, after score is 19 goal of the season after only 5 minutes. From there he start to play the before game with class. I touch you here and I push you there, but always fighting for the team. In the second half, he put some time after the 2-1, by scoring the 3-1 and performing the Sexy Jason Dance, in front of the Crew, girls, guys, fans in general will have some dreams about the striker...doing this again with his goals in the final.............

Carlos 9: U.S. Sherman Like the american tank, he bomb the defence very early. After a brilliant pass from Peter, the lion position his body ready to impact. FIRE. And the 2-0 was up. Excellent performance in attack and in defence, but also communicating with his fellas and participating more actively, his power and intelligence allowed Ross to score his high class goal. Carlos did another High class pass to assist ross. With the perfect touch, the perfect power, the perfect pass.

Foff 9: Silver surfer. A shorter version perhaps, and with a fierce and responsible beard, Foff kicked some ass again in the LB covering Pete or Marco with security and effectivity. The superhero freezes every enemy chance, without taking prisoners. Very composed with the ball, he offers guarantees of results.

Evan 9: Torero In his pass for spain, Evan learned some movements or "pasos" of the most important toreros of the country, then he comes here and surrounded by aussies he does those pasos. He can move the world inside a square and when he spots someone, he can deliver a perfect ball like the one that end up with the important 3-1. Coming back from holidays he already got 2 assists. Bingo bango Evan

Olympic Eagles 1 vs Pagewood Botany 2 AKA "The Untochables"

What a difficult game that was, basically for fact of have been playing just 2 days ago against Maroubra.
Tough and contested game, that the reds have won for conviction, resilience and patience

With this victory, Pagewood will face the finals as a winner of the regular league, having 4 more points than the eagles with only one game to play for each team. Congratulations for the effort of a team that lately was fighting on his limits.

Hesitant start and 1-0

Pagewood started tired. Slow, a sleepy giant, hesitant and without a clear idea about what to do. Certainly, Olympic found more spaces in the midfield, although that they used as a standard resource, the long ball. Nando with the n10 and a tall and skilled strikers where the highest danger for the eagles. In the first 10 minutes they played to close to Ian and George in the CB. Sam had to save the team in a few occasions...the ball was closer and closer until that in some point it happened. The catch our defence out of position and for speed and power the end up facing against Sam, who couldn't stop the ball. 1-0 and now time to play against the score

More heart than definition but slowly coming back...

The team recomposed very well after the goal, and started to play with a little bit more of control. Ross started to show himself a little bit more, Marco and Carlos where all fight but no resolution. They where paying the toll from friday's game.
Kenny and Ross started to provide them with nice passes, leaving them with a chance to score, but none of them was lucky enough today. On the positive side though, the defence was more positioned now, and players like Vlad, Kenny or Ross where taking more control of the possession.

Deserved penalty, 1-...ooops 0 still

Trough that control in the midfield, having in Cam, the war dog, that blocked Nado's game, giving and allowing Ross to have plenty of room for play the team was starting to show more consistency when in possession, from there, in a combination between Carlos and Marco, who both where fouled inside the box, the ref blow a penalty for the reds. Just before the half time. Carlos was the men. He took the last one. His shot this time hit the bar, just in the right corner, the keeper was totally beaten, but the ball was to high. Unlucky and with a bad taste, we went to the half time with a feeling that we could do more.

All the roads lead to Rome.

With only one sub, and every player in the field except Foff having played 90 min just 1 day ago, the reds decided that the best way to end this game was dying in the pitch, under the sun, like gladiators. From there, and with Jason ahead, everything can happen.
Kenny starts a drive from the midfield, beating players here and there, he waits for the right time, and the right moment, to open a deep ball in the right wing, there Marco, that knew what was going on with Kenny, waited for the right time to to cross a first touch pass inside the box for Jason. Olympic CB was caught just 10cm forward, disabling his chance to stop the chance. With a 1-2 touch, Jason scores the equaliser in, again, the first 15min of the second half. Crane 15 goals. The men.

Offensive Compulsive Obsession.

The legs are heavy? Fine
We don't have more than 1 sub? Fine
We start loosing? Fine
Just give me the ball and let us play. That was the attitude. Fuck it. Let's go for it. It was looking that the ones that had play friday where the eagles, as Pagewood played the entire second half in the yellow side.  A succession of chances but the score, stubborn, was still 1-1.
Ian hit the bar after a corner, Jason and Carlos had his couple of chances too. Vlad, cosmic, as usual, had his chance too, but it wasn't supposed to be. Not yet.

Persist and conquer

Ball in the left side, is Ross,Vlad and Marco doing a triangulation, Vlad the last one to get the ball, starts a conduction shot/cross/kiss the ball that travels describing a parabola, that catch all the defenders in a catatonic state of vegetation, leaving the most dangerous player alone. Coming from behind, like a rhino, Jason is here. For score, for the league, for the first position, for the 1-2!!!!!
A great team play goal, like the 1-1, product of the team attitude and ambition! It was the perfect end for a great match!

1-0 Olympic 1-1 Jason (Marco) 1-2 Jason (Vlad)

MVP Of the game

3 Vlad
2 Ross
1 Jason

MVP Of Friday

3 Ross
2 Kenny
1 Marco

RED: First 15 min

Even when the team was tired and a bit rusty due the accumulation of minutes, the first 15 min where terrible. Olympic could had easy scored 3 goals. This general apathy was not a single thing men, as the 11 players in the field where a bit disconnected

ORANGE: Good attitude when coming under the score

The team didn't drop his head down in the first half after the goal, and all the players looked forward to get the tables back. Without the team at full speed, the ball didn't had a fluid circulation, but instead players adapted to a kind of transition game. A non stop of diagonals and balls at the space. Offensive and ambitious.

Green: Alternatives, and Jason.

The team was able to adapt again to the circumstances. With players on the edge due the fitness, they played a more direct game. Being always offensive, so many different payers are getting involved in the goals, or in the creation of them. The biggest new was that Jason came back to rescue the team in the right time and moment. 16 goals amigo

Sam 8: Busy. The keeper meet the eagles early in the game. They came all over him and the defenders, after a few saves and chances, Sam was fusilladed in the 1-0. From there he came back and position himself with security. On a much more quiet second half, the keeper dealt with the game much better and confident.

George 7: Collapsed. Tough start in a tough game, he was tested for a brave wave, the eagles played with a higher pressure than other teams in the first 10min. He didn't found his mojo until the 1-0. From there he took control over the defensive line along side Ian. Once he reach that point, becomes almost unbreakable in defence. Played a high level 45min in the second half. Good for get a taste of the finals...

Ian 7: Multiplied. He had to cover to many spaces in the first half, until the team got more control over the ball. He got Vlad's back and moved well the defensive line with George.  The general hesitant start, and the 1-0, was a call  for the team, and as a captain he dealt with it. Much more compose, he can play more deep when passing, and be the first men to start a build up when in possession.

Vlad 9: Roberto Vladrlos. Typical LB. A guy that plays with the left, in the left. Bingo. He also has the capacity to take the full length of the field with his 3 lungs pack. Classy and imaginative with the ball on the pitch, contributes to keep a fast ball circulation. His shot-pass-hans super-dry in the last moment of the game, end up being a big moment when the Crane scored the 1-2. 90min of fighting.

Foff 7: Maharbal. Like the ancient lieutenant of the general Hannibal Barca, this bearded men covered his generals very well. Once the team was more connected, he kept the right side linked with the rest of the team. Positive in defence with good tackles, positioning and pressing. With Vlad always pushing up, he was the last men to close the field with George and Ian..

Ross 9: Fucking aye. The eagles nightmare. They know him, they know who is he, but they can't stop him. With electrical skills, and a perfect vision he put so many dangerous balls for the strikers. Cam covered his back today so the scottish had much more space to run and have fun. Mush more fresh than other players, he commands and masters the team passing system, being able to play short, long, or deep.

Cam 8: Battleship. Cam's performance today was something to be taught in the schools. His tactical role was to sweep everything that was coming behind Ross, but also organising the team by distributing the ball, always short, and picking the right option when passing. he had to dance with Nando, and he did a passo-doble with him. Intelligent game, for the DMD.

Kenny 9:Crafty. Another player that is becoming more and more important in this team, as he has a endless set of tricks. Since fast conductions with the ball stacked on his foot or untraceable passes. The first goal start from his ideas and execution, and he break the right wing with so many dribblings, crosses and others. Ready to take responsibilities in the finals

Jason 9: Jasonosaurus Rex. Defending his line or pressing in attack, he will always bite and commit to the end. The end today was an apotheosis goal  in the last minute of the game. A championship goal, as let Pagewood be the lonely leader in the ladder. Curios case this one. With less games than the last year, and playing so many games far away from the goal.....he already got 16 goals this season. Pumped for the finals.

Carlos 7: Shy. After a huge effort friday, the colombian did another exhausting game, where he pressed as usual but without the luck of the goal. He had a few chances to score today, including one from the 11 meters, but the penalty when to the wrong spot. A lot of good intention but less realisation than usual. Far from a bad game tho

Marco 7: Molten. He started the game with a collecting bad controls, passes and touches, although that in the second half he showed some improvement. His legs where heavy today after friday's game. Ross supplied a magisterial pass in the first half that he didn't even hit. The ref disallowed the 1-1 for an hypothetical fault over the keeper. Assisted in the 1-1,

Pat 7: Regulator. As well, tired. Instead of waste his energy he act as a regulator in this game. Started a bit slow but once he found his space he always tried to take the best decision. Now passing short, now passing back, now moving forward. Another player that has been playing a lot of good minutes lately. He deserved more in a tough and rough game today.

Olympic Eagles FC Vs Pagewood Botany FC Analysis

Everybody is waiting for the second big clash of the season. And we know that is not the last, as we facing them in the first semifinal because like us they are already in. For first theme this season Pagewood faces a game as a leader, ironic huh? Leaders for first time now, when we just have two more games to go, and Olympic will fight for get that position back.

Why are the eagles flying as high as us?

The website is not updated, but if we make some numbers, both teams are really similar to each other, except for the goal difference.
For a decision of ESFA, all points and goals scored/received against East FC we are standing in the top with 31 points, 39 goals scored and 10 conceded. 4/1 ratio. Looks good to me right? Eagles are on 43 for 21. They conceded 11 goals more than us, but still they have some power fire ahead.
Those numbers at the are just this numbers, eagles base his game in the same way that we do, they talk, they're motivated, and they want to win as much as we do, so we expect a rival ready to play, men to men.
Maybe one of his weak points is the defence, as is not as coordinated and flexible as our defence. Ian and George are well coordinated machines, and now have much more control of the ball and experience. They CB are strong but not as good when under pressure. Also we come with a good rhythm of games, while the eagles didn't play the last 2 weeks (not sure if two but they didn't play last week). We come to the game with all the pieces in place and working properly

Discipline and touch in the midfield.

In Nando, the eagles have his midfield men. He's the brain in the team, always looking too play the ball, strong in the tackle and tactically perfect, as he covers the withs of the midfield allowing the strikers and wings to play more secure, as he got his back.

Dangerous wings.

As we do, they play the flanks, with fast wings and fullbacks. Perhaps, they're fullbacks have a less offensive impact as our guys. They try to play wide, stretching the field, although that they won't hesitate to try long balls looking for the contrattacks.

Dangerous ahead and in the one on one.

If I remember they have a really good striker, and a good secondary men. They fast and they move well with the ball in the foot. They will keep the pressure without the ball. His individual skills are good and they create problems on the last game.

Passing

Olympic is the other team that has really good ideas when the ball is under control, so it will be an interesting game, the ball will be a precious treasure during them 90min.

Why can we win?

Because we are playing together.

In all the aspects.

My coaching eye noticed a very positive order when moving the lines and defending. It came naturally, without realise, we connect all the pieces at the same time.

Look.
The ball is on the right, so the entire team moves as a unit to block spaces and don't give any passing options.

The ball goes to the left? The team goes too

Is so important that's players like George and Ian, take the control do the team when it comes to correct positions and give instructions. Wings have to be disciplined and drop when it's necessary, and the strikers have to be the first of the first men. Always pressure.
We also have key players and probably more danger right now ahead. With Jason always there ready to make some damage, the Mexican duo Is tuned and coming strong in terms of goals. Also players like Kenny, Ross, Jason, or Marco are able to take players and break lines when coming from behind. Probably individually we are stronger, but also we are a passing team, with 25 assistance's, from 9 different players, another good point.

What do we have to be aware off?

To not break the lines. The midfielders have to be all 4 of them in constant talking. With Ross commanding, Cam need to take a more defensive an organising role.
Because of the lack of players we lack some energy too, and in some moments in the last games, we find problems like this one.

Both midfielders are attacking and in advanced positions, the ST loose the ball and eagles play quick.

Keeping an extra men "behind" when attacking will give less options to Eagles to succeed in the contraattacks. Also will allow the reds to have an option if the ball can go forward. A constructor role.

With this, the team will have time to stretch the lines, as when we are in posession of the ball we are looking for.

- make the field big
- fast circulation
- move forward with order
- generate spaces to create chances

Basically the team is being doing this more or less in the past 5 games, with much more idea of what do we want. Improving the team play when both, attacking and defending, will give us an advantage point. The last ref ask me if we played higher divisions before. Good sing

Get pumped lads

Pagewood Botany 4 Vs Maroubra united 0 "AKA" pumped.

Pagewood Botany 4 Vs Maroubra united 0 "AKA" pumped.

Fantastic victory against Maroubra, 4 goals and football against a team that didn't offer resistance.
Both teams where struggling when it came to players. Pagewood with only 11 soldiers. It didn't matter. The reds overplayed Maroubra in all the aspects of the game today. Nothing like we will find Sunday.

Pagewood sleeps as a leader, for first time this season, it can last one game...or not.

Semi standard line up.

Sam, finally back under the goals, such a good new for start. Neuer is here. Ian and George in the back covered by Jason and Vlad. Ross and Cam in the wheel, Pat and Kenny punishing the flanks with Carlos and Marco in the top. Looks pretty serious to me.

Ambition since the beginning

Promising start for Pagewood as they looked much more ready to deal with the game than his opponent. Quickly and precisely the midfield was getting the control of the game. Both midfielders establish the game tempo, using the triangulations with the CB and the wings. Jason and Vlad are both offensive players. They tough to stop when coming with spaces and also a great support for the passing game. Carlos and Marco where start to show for the movie time.

Golazo of Carlos. 1-0

Because of this circulation of the ball, the chances where getting closer and closer, a corner here and a shot there. Things where getting nasty for Maroubra.
Ian cuts a counterattack and does a incredible pass, 25m or more. Marco puts it down with the head to Kenny, just behind him, coming ready to play quick to Ross, who in de midfield takes a decision. A quick one. A breakdown pass over the last defender, Carlos is in the run in the right corner of the area, chest control, and first touch shot with his right, powerful, unstoppable. Ges over the keeper for score his 7 goal this season. Great team play from the back to the attack, stopping in the midfield, and great definition from Carlos, in shape.

The Brazilian legend

With the team totally in control of the game, players started to like themselves, and with that extra confidence we have seen really good teamplays, product of that, chances. Carlos had a couple on the first half, but Cafu, I mean Jason, had the most beautiful one. A fullback run, like a missile, he crossed the entire field leaving players behind, at the end his shot hit the bar, so unlucky, as it could had been the goal of the season. Ross had another beautiful chance from a long shot. On a negative side, Marco lost his head in a tackle against him. Strong and dirty tackle, but Marco over reacted, and he didn't get a booking because of the lack of interest of the referee. Bad bad bad.

Tiki taka or the 3/4 game.

Maroubra started fierce in the second half, pressing more and biting a bit, but nothing far from the reality. After 10min the circulation was again for Pagewood. If we could had seen the ratios of Possession, those will be close to 70/30 for the reds. Cam, Ross, Kenny and Pat, with the support of Marco that has the tendece to drop his position, kept a wise circulation of the ball, knowing when to knock maroubra door or instead, play back to the defence for open the lines. From 3/4 ahead was a show in some moments.

Technical KO. Ross scores the second Golazo of the night. 2-0

Carlos had a good chance, so did Marco after a great volley after another great team play, even Ross hit the bar after another long shoot. The keeper was being a hero until that the Scottish scored the 2-0. On a goal kick, Marco was faster and smarter than the defenders, catch the kick, and with a first touch with the foot, and a second with the head, left to players behind and get himself to the end of the field, then turned around and spotted Ross in the edge of the box, his favourite position. Pass, control, and shot, after leave a defender with a broken hip, no need for more, over everyone, 2-0 and justice in the field.

Last season our biggest enemy where the 10 first minutes of the second half. This season is another story, as the team is been playing very intense in the last games. As the last weekend, the team scored a really fast goal in the second half. Vlad in the LB plays a trough ball to Carlos, stocked in the left line. The Colombian puts it down and let the ball to Marco, drawing s diagonal inside the box, he controls, with a bit if luck and drops a defender before he strikes with his right a dry shot, far enough from the keeper. Justice in the field for a team that tis year has more attitude than this season before.

3-0, 4-0 and keep going.

With Maroubra totally defeated, lacking oxygen and asking for a break, Pagewood enjoyed himself quite a lot. Passes here and there, first touch, dribblings... Ross as usually after a good transition in the midfield, squeezed a beautiful pass inside the box for Carlos, in front of the keeper and having as well a defender rover him, did a great touch for let the ball for Marco, coming in his side for score 2m from the goal. Carlos ball was going in, although that a extra defender was going to save it probably, so all in all, better safe than sorry, Marco put end to the drama.
Jason did had another incredible run, this time going from the right to the middle, passing players like if they where cones, his shot, guess what, in the bar.
But Jason is a lot of Jason's. In another watermelon from Maroubra, Kenny started a quick contrattack, he passed to George, up front, yes : ). The CB with delightful oriented control, turn over himself and open the ball to the right, deep. Jason like a high speed train goes till the end and cross a ball inside the small box, there, Marco without opposition scores with the head the 4-0. Bingo bango bongo. Another team play, another goal.

3 points, a lot of good sensations, and facing Olympic eagles as a leaders. Guys rest because we have to win.

1-0 Carlos (Ross) 2-0 Ross (Marco) 3-0 Marco (Carlos) 4-0 Marco (Jason)

RED: Maroubra wasn't a fierce opponent today.

Yes, Pagewood did play better, way much better, but Maroubra wasn't coordinated. No organisation or desire to follow a pattern of playing. His good midfielders where disconnected and Beau was the only danger for our defenders, although that he didn't get too many balls. We will be facing a much more stronger team in all the aspects, technical, tactical and physically.

ORANGE: Lack of players and effort in our legs

Because of the fact that the team play in a high level of intensity we need subs to give a breather when the legs are heavy. Unfortunately today we didn't enjoy this pleasure, which can affect this Sunday. Behave yourself and rest wisely.

GREEN: Team play

None of the goals are coming from a individual play, this is a great new, it is beautiful to see all the players playing  the same style of game. Now it's time to believe and go till the end with those principles. Mention to the defence, the most secure in the league. Clean sheet and feeling that with Ian and George we can go till the end of the world.

Sam 8: Selfie master. I saw him taking selfies and updating Facebook, as he still on holidays. Good game for him to start as he only had to run to pick balls from outside the pitch. In the only options that Maroubra had, corners specially, he showed security and temperance. Welcome back Sam the keeper

Jason 9: Super Sayan. Because he is a striker, he has that offensive mentality, but because he's can turn himself as a super Sayan LVL 4, he was able to break the entire field by sprinting, dribbling and almost scoring YouTube goals. Impeccable in defence, even when he didn't had to do more. Good sense with the ball, always finding the best play. Sassy with some long passes, and assisting the 4-0 to Marco. The crane is the crane here or in china

George 9: king of Sparta. George is the king. When he wants he can't be surpassed in defence, today is not much to say about those tasks, as usual stopping everybody, linked with Ian and first commander of the team, gives instructions and orders to his soldiers, the 4-0 start after a soft movement and a great pass to Jason. Getting more and more confident with the ball on his feet. Magister

Ian 8: Gandalf. As he didn't had much to do in defence, he delighted everybody with tempo and control of the situation, like and old mithrandyr. Always knew who to pass the ball, and how, which is a grateful thing to see in your team. Like George and as a captain he organises the defenders, and does understands how to switch his players when defending. Leader

Vlad 8: Necessary. Serious, confident and strong, he did another serious play in the LB, by  contributing in the general passing dynamic. In control with pat in the left flank, and with a precise long pass. Quick in the pressure using is power and very active in attack, the LB had a really good chance to score in the second half after a shot from outside the box. He is motivated.

Cam 8: Busy. Always doing something, here and there, covering the right side if the field. Very well connected with Jason and Carlos, and offering Ross a good support. Able to talk and give instructions if it's necessary, his passing skills are improving fast. In the second half emptied his tanks until the las liter of fuel. Has to cover too much distance sometimes.

Ross 9: ET. A very happy game for the Scottish alien, as per usual dropping flicks, hints and passes, from his boots he gave the 1-0, the beginning of the 3-0 and a list of passes delivered with precision. Sexy. Could had scored 4 panoramic goals, but at the end he "only" scored 1. Moved the team on his time, fast, slow... Much more offensive today, found so many spaces with Marco and Carlos. Wise

Kenny 8. Knight. He is totally committed with the game, implied in defence and as usual unpredictable in attack. His high participation in the circulation, generates always spaces and triangulations. Participated in the beautiful team play from the first goal, create so many danger in the right, crossing very dangerous balls. Intelligent and sharp in his duty.

Pat 8. Angry. He started the game a bit imprecise, this didn't mean the the didn't show up for the show, all the opposite. He did take a very active role with Vlad and Marco in the left flank. In the second half, angry, he played on a higher level of intensity, and started to show his skills, passing and pressing. Also delighted the crew with a couple of good dribblings. Deeper than before he was now more dangerous.

Marco 9: Rafiki. Like the lion king baboon he jumps and does things, strange things, but meaningful. Associated with the midfield, he played two different halves. In the first one was more the reference or Buoyant, leaving more options for Carlos. In the second half, he took a step back and participated actively in the team play, his high level of intensity in the 2-0 from Ross, and the sprint that he does from the defence to the attack in the 4-0 is a good sing, he's ready to party. Gives time with the ball in possession and his vision compliments the system.

Carlos 9: Huge. He capitalised the attack in the first half, switching his position from right to left with a cool control of the situation. Scored a massive goal for the 1-0 and gave the 3-0. He also could had score a few more, as he find spaces from nowhere. Much more associative and very quick in the one-two. Is in a really good shape too, and ready for the finals, his numbers are fantastic with 7 goals and 6 assistances

Sydney Uni 1 Vs Pagewood Botany 3 "AKA" The A team

Sydney Uni 1 Vs Pagewood Botany 3 "AKA" The A team

Let me start with a quick update on the league table.

After the game, Pagewood is second with 31 points, and 13 games played (including bye), being Sydney Uni with 21, and 14 games played. 10 points of difference and, with only 6 points to play (9 for us) we are mathematically in the winner semifinal. We already achieved more than the last season, and we are looking better than ever! Congratulations lads! It's been a difficult due the lack of players including a regular goalkeeper, but even with that, we managed to get away with a collection of victory's.

Look like is a league of two.... The entree is served.

Exotic first 11.

First of all, Kenny in under the goal. A medal for him, as he took the responsibility hours ago, when he say it on the chat, without a blink, a player that is been the key in so many moments makes a sacrifice for the team. He was decided to be the GK.
Ian and George closing the lines with Jason and Sean in the sides. To towers to cover the flanks. Jack and Ross in the midfield, dancing with Pat and Vlad. Ahead, the Mexican duo, the two pistols of the team.

Encouraging start.

Pagewood started very ambitious in the game, punishing Sydney Uni, testing they're men. The intensity was high. Product of that Carlos had the 0-1 in a clear chance against the keeper, after a great pass from Ross. Later, Ross almost score in another hand to hand, he faked the first shot, but missed the second one, still, a delicatessen.

Security in defence.

Ian and George managed to keep the lines always in order, correcting and helping Jason and Sean to adapt to they're roles. Sydney Uni did had a good striker, n19. Good touch with the ball, tall and fit. A nice challenge. But nothing did break the line in the first 20min.

Insufficiency and surprise 1-0.

Due the control of the midfield, with Ross targeting the spaces Carlos had another good chance, always coming from the right, also Marco had it in  by corner that Ross delivered. Water, air.
Sydney wasn't about to be that benevolent, as they scored on the only chance that they had in the first 45 min, a quick contra attack, led by n8 end up with a double chance inside the box, the second one, end up inside of the net. This goal was a direct cause of lethargy for the next 20min. Pagewood got a bit confused, asking themselves, "why are we 1-0?". The balance turned to be in Sydney's Uni, they main tactic, quick the melon and run, was now our best idea. Carlos loves this disorder sometimes....

The bouncing men, 1-1 things are not that bad.

Inside that lethargy, the game became and up and down, Ross and Jack where playing more direct, less transitions or long circulations, but if you have the right men's you can get some Gold from those situations. Ross in one of those, gets a ball in the midfield and spots Carlos in the right flank, the ball bounces, and the striker is Inside the box ready to control it but the keeper jumps over him, outside of the rules. Clear penalty.
"Es Mio" the Colombian says. BOOOOM 1-1 and a deserved goal, after his lasts games, Carlos deserved this penalty and the consequent goal. Tables!
The game didn't improve much after the goal, as the connections with the wings where not consistently. The team hit the bench decided to give a turn to this situation.

The second half symptom. 1-2 paella moment

Last season our biggest enemy where the 10 first minutes of the second half. This season is another story, as the team is been playing very intense in the last games. As the last weekend, the team scored a really fast goal in the second half. Vlad in the LB plays a trough ball to Carlos, stacked in the left line. The Colombian puts it down and let the ball to Marco, drawing a diagonal inside the box, he controls, with a bit of luck and drops a defender before he strikes with his right a dry shot, far enough from the keeper. Justice in the field for a team that this year has more attitude than this season before.

Possession based game.

The 1-2 was a release for the team, that start playing with more head than heart. Pagewood increased his possession of the ball, making Sydney players run behind them. Ross and Jack found more participation, coming from the flanks or with a George and Ian now totally coordinated. Sean took a gear down too, and participated actively in the creation.
Triangulations between Ross and Marco where more successful now that had Jason up front with Carlos. The crane was the link, and Carlos the edge of the sword.
Most part of the second half was played in Sydney's field.

They died with honour. 1-3

In the last 15 min so many things happened. Sydney took a step forward and decided to give everything that they had. The 3 points where vital for them too, so they had something to fight for. They increased the pressure and now was Pagewood who was under the hammer. They're mistaken was that whey where hitting a sleepy lion.
Pagewood under attack still have some tricks on his sleeve. Fast players. Jason, Carlos and Marco are running animals that cover so many distance in the field. They had all 3, clear chances before Carlos finally scored the 1-3 after another great pass from Vlad, over the defence in the left flank. Carlos controlled, turn over himself, found space and snitch a ball, soft and deadly. 1-3.
In the box to box kind off play, Pagewood can be really dangerous. 3 more points, and we did draw a strict line between Olympic and us, and the rest

1-0 Sydney Uni 1-1 Carlos (p) 1-2 Marco (Carlos) 1-3 Carlos (Vlad)

MVP of the game.

Marco 3
Carlos 2
Ross 1

RED: Missed chances and playing under the adversity

Because the team plays an offensive style of play, we generate so many chances, but of course not all of them will end up as a goal, perhaps some of them should had been goal. Carlos, Ross, Marco and Jason missed chances that usually are goal. Also seems that the team is not use to play with the unusual circumstances of being behind in the scorer. Just after the goal the team was knocked out for a good 15min.

 ORANGE: Crucial moments

Behind in the scorer the team didn't play his best minutes, but step by step, they attitude balanced the lack of ideas in terms of football. They didn't loose the hunger, and get a penalty, result of this stubborn attitude. It seems that the passing game is working for the team, so they shouldn't let the opponent drag them to they're game.

GREEN: Picking up speed

The team is picking up the rhythm, just in the best moment of the season, our legs, less tired do the high amount of wash outs, are working at his best right now. In the last 15 minutes. Pagewood played purely a contrattack style. Having players with a good fitness allow you to punish your enemy when his lines are broken.

Kenny 10: Generous. As I mention before he didn't hesitate to offer himself as a keeper hours before the game. Great mentality from one of our key players. Nothing to say about the goal, as he couldn't do anything. Secure in the corners and close to go home with a clean sheet.

Sean 8: Smart. After the first 15 min, where he basically was adapting himself, he found more connections with George and Ian. Payed a serious game, being always in time for the tackle. He didn't complicate much going in attack, as Vlad was pushing more on the left flank, due this fact, he focused in close the lines and offer a good repertory of short passes, and composure with the ball.

George 8: Tutor. This is the George that you want. Decided to be a locker in deference, and also organise the rest of the players when defending. Took control of Sean, correcting his position, and showed temperance in the critical moments for Pagewood. End up exhausted due the hard job. Is showing more passes than before and is an option to play when under the pressure.

Ian 8: Capo. Like a Italyan mobster he closed lines with George. Always aware of covering Vlad when he was pushing forward, and controlling everyone's positions, especially Marco. His role as a captain is taking now a next level, as he feels more keen to give instructions. The defence pimp, treat everyone that was trying to go trough him like bitches.

Vlad 8: Explosive. A very fierce LB. Very hard to beat by speed, and impossible in the shoulder to shoulder. Compensates his lack of cm with a very powerful jump. Great second half, punishing the left flank with the LW, and always happy to participate in triangulations. Thanks to this ability, he assist Carlos on the third goal, and started the play in the second. 2 meticulous passes over the defence, allowing Carlos to break from the left.

Jack 8: Protector. As he is a versatile player, it doesn't take too long for him to understand what is his role. He participated actively in the game, closing lines properly, and keeping Ross backs clear. With his ability with the ball, he gives time and sense to the game, combing  forward, or backward if it's necessary. Intense in the pressing, offered support to the CB by dropping his position. Covered a good distance in the field. Medal of honour

Ross 9: Mad-hatter. His presence is enough to encourage everybody. Always thinking fast and moving wisely in between the lines. When he does that flick over a player, "sombrero" in Spanish, you just can sit and watch and ask for a Wisky. When he's surrounded by players that play at his rhythm the game will always look good. Provided the pass that end up in a penalty. A pass from his own field that break the defence in half. Missed a cheeky chance that could had been the 0-1

Jason 7: polyform. We used to see Jason commanding the attacking lines, nowadays it's something that we are seeing less and less often, as he sacrifices for the good of the team. Started the game as a RB, giving consistency and security in the defensive line. Great for him and for the team, but the real monster is when he plays up front. Once he moved ahead in the second half, the story was different. Downloading balls, distributing, assisting and generating chances. Give the 1-3 to Marco (missed) and he missed as well the 1-3. We need him pumped for the last games.

Pat 7: Cold. Started really intense in the first half, being a constant support for Carlos in the right flank. Had a chance after a good movement, creating his own space, but the keeper save it. In the second half he played in he muddy side of the field (unplayable) so he took a more conservative role in the field. Without looking for many complications when passing, he was the perfect partner for Sean. Nobody could cross a air ball in his side. Game of sacrifice for the tower.

Alex 6: Fresh blood. Took time for him to adapt to Pagewood's system. Also he played in 3 different positions. RW, ST and in some moments LB. Too many mambo for a player that didn't know his team mates properly. Even with that he offered fight and attitude when he was on the field.  Strong and powerful was hard to pass him when acting as a defender.

Marco 9: Pitagoras. Slowing down one gear, he found triangles everywhere. George and Ian kept him in position when defending. Better in the second half, he scored after a good combination with Carlos. Always with the ball on the deck, punished the left flank with Vlad and Carlos, good communication and unpredictable, he was a important piece in the midfield play in one step closer with Ross and Jack. Missed the 1-3 after a great contrattack and a killer pass from Jason.

Carlos 9: Hulk. Another game and another display of power, sacrifice, pressure and today goals. First one from a penalty that he provoked himself, the second after a nice turn around inside the box, and in between he had time to give an assistance (5th) to Marco. Ambitious, generous and dynamic, always pushing from the flanks and being a reference in attack. He could had scored the 0-1 in the first 10 min of the game

Pagewood Botany 4 Vs Lokomotive Cove 0 "AKA" Who said that second parts weren't good?

2nd game in 3 days, like is going to be the last week, and this is always dangerous as our energy levels weren't at 100%.......right?
Not much to add about Loko, as we played them on friday. We knew what was going to happen. Tackles, elbows, and long balls, lots of long balls. So Pagewood was aware of what was going on.
A modified again first 11, inducted by the fact that we are lacking so many players, just when the league start to be in that cheeky moment. A mistake and we can drop some important points, a mistake and we can step back in the ladder.
Not today.

With Vlad as a GK (amazing btw), Darren, George, Ian, and Foff in defence, Kenny and Pat taking the wings, Cam and Jason in the MD and the mexican duo upfront, the team was ready to play.

First half of battle without rest 0-1

If we did some phisicall problems, basically a tight hamstring, or a dodgy calve, the team managed to play with a high intensity level pretty much the entire game. This doesn't mean that it was a walk in the park, pretty far from that. Loko did had real problems in terms of fitness so they played with one goal in the first 45 min. Push as max the machinery, get close enough to score and close and defence in the second half. In the practice it worked well at the beginning of the game, playing they're game, putting our midfielders under the test. Cam and Jason had to deal with to many pressure, and Loko create a few clear chances that either Vlad or our defence managed to safe in the last moment. That was a call for Pagewood.
Carlos, one of the best players of this game, started to change the game by pressing on a very high level, and always looking for spaces trough some long passes. Marco and Foff where doing the same on the left flank, always with Pat as a "stick to the line" men, the triangulations and changes of rhythm of the spaniard generate problems enough for Loko to take a step back, and this was a terrible mistake.
Carlos and Marco did combine really well today, well, the Colombian combined with everybody, even with some players in other parallel games. The striker, never stops chasing, and today it had a reward. After a over pass from Jason, Carlos run to pick the pass, but Loko's Keeper is going to get there first...so he does. But scared of el leon, he kind of dropped the ball, in front of Carlos pressure, the striker took the ball and saw Marco in the far post coming from behind, he delivered a criminal pass with a death sentence, and with a scary touch with his left foot when felling, the spaniard put the 0-1 and a sensation of release in the team.
After that, not much more happened, Jason and Marco could had scored the 2-0 in two different chances, but both of them missed. Loko did had the best chance to score in this half, after a 3 vs 2 on a long ball that catch our defence in a complete mess,Vlad first and Foff just after him saved the team from an ugly 1-1
The game was under control and Loko lost they're chance to put a bite in the cake.

The supplier. Carlos the handymen 0-2,0-3, 0-4 and the job is done.

On the second half, the team worked with his full capacity, and overplayed Loko withouth many problems, except a couple of mistakes in some contrattacks. This is something that worries this old fella. We have lapsus. Brain farts. Novice mistakes. It happen on the last game and it happened again today, in some moments, the team loose the order, with players out of position, or coverings that are not done properly. Today the problem was the communication, in this second half it was much higher than the last 45 min, this increased our sense of control, and if you do 2+2 it's 4.
Having they're players exausted, and leaving so many spaces in the field, players like Kenny or Marco are in the heaven. They love to move around the field ready to start a combination, involving the whole team to dance his tango. This cooperation increases when players like Cam or Darren are in talking mode, as you can here a description of what is around you when you are in posession of the ball. Sometimes I just had to follow Darren instructions to know who I had in my back, or in my right....
Long ball without problems. Jason can't catch it and stops as the keeper, over him, take's the ball. Everybody turns around and start walking to they're positions, another day in the office...but the keeper had different plans, he leaves the ball for Jason, inviting him to join the fest, and of course he can't refuse the invitation. With a touch with his right, he brings light and justice in this planet. 0-2, and much more to happen.
The 0-3 started with a ball from Pat to Carlos, the striker, just pass the midfield line, start to run controling the ball, attracting defenders, waiting for the right moment. Then he close his eyes, and does a tricky pass, with the outside of his foot, everyone stares at the ball except from the Crane, who is already running towards the keeper to send another ball in the net. You can't stop him on the 1 vs 1.
2 goal of Jason, 14, and he already improved his last year numbers. Oh, and second assistance for Carlos. Just wait a little bit more.
With Pagewood attacking like a bear, brute and incisive, Loko had to start kicking some knees, Carlos was his favourite target today. Terrible mistake to make him angry. He passed one, he passed two players, and when the third was coming, he cross the ball from the right wing, and leaves Pat totally alone to score the 4-0. What a game for both players. Carlos today deserved a goal, but instead he got a hat trick of assistances. Pat on the other side, did a great game specially in the second half, always winning those 50/50, a deserved goal for his last games.
The last 15-20 min Pagewood took a step back, move some players and did something that we should do more often. Play in squares. Secuences of passes, CB to MD to CB to RB to MD.....seeing players from Loko running behind the ball, chasing shadows, was at list enjoyable. Bring me popcorns amigo! The players understood that the red energy levels where down, and instead of just crack balls up and down will exaust us, the team did really had the posetion. Switching game from side to side through short passing and always playing with no more than 3 touches. Easy pass, tiki, taka

3 important points as we facing Sydney Uni this friday (who had a Bye this weekend). Now we have 28 points for 21 of Sydney Uni.

1-0 Marco (Carlos) 2-0 Jason 3-0 Jason (Carlos) 4-0 Pat (Carlos)

MPV of the game

3 Marco
2 Kenny
1 Ian

Red: Mental Limbo sometimes.

It happen that this year a few times, seems that the team because of the lack of players is trying new things moving players in some moments of the game here and there. Sometimes they work sometimes not. This depends on the discipline that the team has for adapt himself to those changes. This discipline is lost sometimes. We been caught 3 times today 3 vs 2 or 4 vs 2. Against Olympic eagles this can means 3 goals against. Be aware lobsters

Orange: Firepower.

In between the 3 "official" strikers did score 24 goals this season, and sure that many more have to come. Also is positive that we won two games in a row, now that looks that the weather will give us a break, and start to catch the rhythm again. Also 7 goals in 2 games. We need now more extra. The captain and George said that today, More second line shots. We are on the right way, catching up on goals, something that last season was a guaranteed fact.

Green: Team attitude

I like the vibes. Good group, and all looking forward to get this thing done together. Even when we have more luck or less luck in the games, over victory's, defeats and draws, is a good group. Nobody drop his arms down or surrender before the whistle.

Vlad 8: Vampire. He sucked all Loko's strikers blood. Flying in the night, making the sky a safe place. Is no air ball, or ground ball that scaped from him. He also knows how to be one more of the team by his higher ratio of communication. Safety is his surname.

Darren 7: Mountaineer. Yolereeeeee Yohooooooooo. Darren climb's up and down the field, as a RB or as a MD. He know's what his role is, and he completes his tasks with elegance and discipline. He gives instructions to everyone, and sometimes I can play with my eyes closed, just following his orders. Didn't complicate himself with the passes, as that was the task of other people. Perfect bouncer for the playermakers.

George 7: Flexible. Like a well stretched hamstring, he played in a few different positions today. Didn't had many work to do as a CB, but he covered the few options that Loko had with solvency. End up the game playing as a striker downloading the ball at any chance, and scaring the opposite defenders. He tried succesfully a few great deep passes. He's back

Ian 8: Speakless. The silent leader. He doesn't open much his mouth, but when he does, even the pope listen. Took a defensive role today, playing as a CB and MD. Disciplined, tactically smart, and very sassy with the ball. He helped the distribuition starting from behind, and with Kenny and Marco is one of the players with a higher passing ratio in this game. Oh did I mention dad he tackle even the ref? He finish the game playing triangulations with no more than 1/2 a touch. Epic

Foff 8: CPR. Advanced paramedic, the LB, position that start to be his fetiche, was covered with mastery. Didn't progress much in attack as he had to deal with a very tall wing, but instead of attack he covered Pat's and Marco's back. The team lost the control 3 times, and one of them Loko almost score. But super Foff was there, between him and Vlad they save the 1-1 twice. His name finish with two FF of Fierce Fucker.

Cam 7: Tactical. Like the generals in the ancient wars, he read the game with intelligence and took 2 steps back in the midfield, leaving the creating tasks to other players. Still, this doesn't stop him to sprint up and down pressing and pushing as much as he can, and becoming a married men soon, his wife and child will be proud to have him. Cam go and buy milk, and with the blink of an eye, Cam will bring you a cow.

Jason 9: Criminal. He had that much determination that the opposite GK gave him a freebie to score the 2-0, and because 13 is a unlucky number, he scored the 3-0 after a great pass from Carlos. Going on the 1 vs 1 against the keeper, is useless to try to stop him. Jason is here, with 14 goals, 1 more than the entire last season. We have striker, forever. And ever. He's already married with the goal.

Kenny 9: Volatile. Another game, and another great perfomance of the wing. He doesn't face the goal very often (he will) but his mastery to deal with midfield business it's priceless. Able to break the lines with a cracking dribbling, or inteligent enough to play the ball fast and always finding the best option. Have players like this, add's to the team so much value. He got punished sometimes, as the loko defenders where literally getting "loco" with him. Count till 10 and count how many players can he pass in those 10 seconds. Kenny da men

Pat 8: Rewarded. Like in the old far west, he got a reward for a bounty kill. He scored after create his own space, and follow Carlos run. A reward after a long list of games where he fights, sacrifaces, passes, shot, in resume, he plays with the team, for the team. We all need players like this. On his first year he's showing a lot of determination and ambition to win the league. Bravo for this gentleman.

Marco 9: Lieutenant. Another one that is in great shape. He scored again with his left foot, after a great serve from Carlos. Also took a more organising role today, playing much more close to the MD than usual. Less visual in the 1vs1 as he didn't look for it much, but with the ball he is unpredictable. Today moved the team at his own music style, and connected with everyone. End up the game doing what he most likes, tiki taka plays. With Kenny, Carlos, Darren, Ian, Jason.... He will find a pass for you, even if you're at home. Mastermind

Carlos 9: Santa Claus. Christmas was this last sunday, and lucky for us, we all get some rewards. Carlos did a hat trick of assistances, and he deserves a special mention. His job, ugly and dirty, but necessary. He loves what he does. And we love it too. He fights till the last whistle, he open spaces with or without the ball, and even when today he looked at the goals from the distance, he will score many more goals. You just wait and see. The southamerican wants to win. Badly. El Leon.

Stu 7: Barracuda. Do you remember him? The eternal kid, baby face Stu. Badass Stu. Rock and Roll Stu, Stu o'clock time, which means tackle time. Without havin rhythm of football on his boots, he still having the mojo. Not very prolific in attack, but solid and serious in defence! Stu was back for the old times.
