The Red Dead Revenge

Redfern Raiders. Definetly not the most comfortable team to play against, and less in his field. If Lokomotive Cave was a potatoes Field, this was a Onions field. Terrible it's a soft word for describe a field, where a crazy motherf*$^# decide to spin with the car the night before.

About Redfern, well, the shortest player was 1,85m so thats pretty much more than our average. Having lenght problems, Pagewood was just thinking in two words, Tiki-Taka.

The game start and as usuall, the team tried to focus in move the ball, creating spaces and playing quick in the front with a very solid midfield (Ross and Ian) and a very active Marco. Pete on the other side had to fight with a very tough Right back.

Good first 25min

The first half an hour, was pretty good for the reds. Jason had a couple of good chances after passes from Foff and Marco, and the same spaniard had a chance that the goalkeeper put away. Pete had a good chance too, but a defence cross on his way to score! Triangulations, the name of Ross and Marco favourite song, where a nightmare for the defence. Also, Foff has been proved another Mini-crane, this is a really good new! Ian had to dance with the very ugly girl of the party, the number 34. A long, strong and high skilled midfielder. He was the creator and the destroyer of redfern, but our "capi" did an amazing task keeping him quiet.

Last 15 min and the start of the fear

Our defence is maded in iron. They are all Titans, but the last 15-20 minutes, Redfern had more chances that they should. Mikee was playing good, but had a few troubles in the left back, in the other side, Danny, was playing without debt the best game on his season. Solid in defence, never loosing the position and talking with Marco/Kenny/Beau all the time.
They hit the post. That makes a uncomfortable silence on the Red team. They almost score. That could change so many things 1-0 before the second 45min...that would be terrible, but we have the champions luck and the ball hit the post....happy ending

Bloody first 10 min

Siesta, that's what was all about. 2 Pm it's the international official time for a siesta. And the red's are experticians in this, because the first 10 minutes of the second half where a nightmare for everyone. Nobody touch a decent ball and nobody knew what was going on. Redfern had the best chances and we where knocked out for a while....

The passion of the Crane

Looked like after the siesta, the team slowly but surely was getting into the game, and step by step the team start to roar a little bit lowder. Anyway it wasn't a spectacular development of the second half, but we reduce the impact in our defence.
The goal came after a play with Ross, Evan, 3 defenders, one bounce and booooom The crane was there for put the ball inside and the team up to the top!
From there, the game was more broken, Pagewood had two great chances (Jason in a counterattack and Marco after a great assistance from Ross) and a post from Jason again.

After all, 0-1 in one of the most difficult games so far in the season, with a team that played a great game. Probably the biggest weakness of Redfern is they strikers, they have a very tough middfield and a well organized defence.
It was a victory that is been achieve it with blood and sweat. A really deserved victory, one of those victory's that make us better. A team victory.

0-1 Jason

Mikee (Yellow card)

Sam 8: He won the duel against the other goalkeeper (it was a really good keeper) Well played Sam!
Mikee 6: Jason almost cut his legs in the half time, but he recompose himself and did a good second half
Stu 8: Machine. He is doing a great season, and he is guilty of most part of our victory's
George 9: Ridiculous. He make look the strikers of other team like little girls. Abusive
Danny 7: Hungover. Look's like this is his secret. Best perfomance so far from the Physioterapist
Ian 7: I can imagine the face of the num 34 when he saw Ian invitation... "you wanna dance?" Ian win the first price
Ross 8: William Wallace, he fought against everyone and everything in that onion field. He can play with a quilt. Really unlucky on the shoots, but he will score, no doubt about it
Marco 7:Buddhist. He has found his karma. He plays calmed and chilled, and when he does not have the ball, fight for it or create spaces. He gave a couple of great passes and had a chance.
Pete 6: Unconfortable, he couldn't find his pace, because of the hight intensity pressure of the right back, he played well, but not as happy like last week
Foff 7: Fighter, he work out the hall defence, puting down balls, pressing, and opening spaces for Ross and Ian
Jason 7: Hunter, he catch a goal from nowehere, he has that instinct inside the area. The wolf of Botany.
Evan 6: Moved, he took a lot of participation in the game, but very far away from his position, but in the second half, he got his spot and played much better, focusing in combinations with the scottishman and the catalan
Kenny 7: Mr Librata can do so many things, play ahead, play as a left back, dance salsa and eventually become a master pornstar. Great game in defence...will this be a new start?
Beau 6: Punched, he had always someone trying to cut his feet every time that he had the ball. Not the best thing to happen when you are the faster player in the team.

A little bit of what's happening

Right now, Heffron Hawks 14p, same as us, but one game in hand. Olympic eagles, draw last weekend against East FC 0-0, so we have a gap of 2p and also we have a gap of 5p with the 5th on the table Redfern Raiders FC.
What I was talking with Ross today was that, we are on a very good position for get to the play-off (unless that a disaster happen in the second half of the league) but we need to win all those games against teams like Heffron, Redfern, Olympic....so when we play the finals (if we finally made it) the will be affraid of us. Look in this way, what do you prefer, play the final after lose against Heffron both games this league? or Facing the final like the "oh no the reds again, let's call 000 before the game start"
Carefull with East FC. Aparently they are a very rough and strong team...
