One more catch up game, and another 3 important points. Friday, 7:30pm, the winter give us a break tonight, as it wasn't as cold as the last days. No rain and 13 players ready to play agains Loko. Our old friend. 1-1 and 1-1 last year. Yes, One of the two teams that we never beat this past season. The other one, the champion, Heffron. So a little bit of far west gunshot for dinner was looking pretty good for everybody. On the side, the girls, who get a special mention today again! The Hooligans of our team.
3 well deserved points today, against a physical rival that help us to put a gap in the ladder of 7 points between us and the 5th place, also secure the team in the 2nd position, keeping the hunt over Olympic.
At the end of this game we are 2nd with 25 points, 11 games, 30 goals for us for only 11 against.
Not bad at all
Irregular start and indecisions.
Pagewood start the game brave. With ambition, but without control.
With a defence with Jason as a LB, Ian and Darren as a CB and Jack in the RB, the order was guaranteed. In the midfield, attention, yes, I'm gonna say it...Ross! and Cam in the MD and opening with Kenny and Foff in the wings, and the Mexican duo ahead.
The field, muddy, irregular, cold. The rival, tough, brute, fierce. The ball, flying up and down without any kind of peace.
Ross is a player that modifies the game. He add's tempo. Time, basically, 2 or 3 extra seconds, that allow yourself to place in the right spot. But this requires that the rest of the team plays accordingly the master. On the first 20 min this didn't happen.
Marco had the world record on intended passes, with 0 success. Even Cam had to told him to calm down a little bit. Carlos was fighting his own battle against 2 bouncers in the defence. No rhythm, no salsa. We got the defence in order, and they didn't create any chances over John. So basically, we got a problem.
Jason send Marco to the bench, and let George have a chance as a striker, with his partner Carlos.
After the first 20 min, Ross and Cam decided that this was enough.
The communication lines started to work, the players realised that if they played smartly, Loko players where able to get disorganised quickly. The game became more fluid, with more combinations between the players. Cam, Ross, and Kenny started to get more in touch, for moments, the circulation was perfect.
0-1 Carlos la pone and George nail it.
The draw remained for way to long in the first half, without many chances, some long shots and a free kick from Ross, not much to cheer about, until that in one of those, Jason got space in the left flank, and opens to Carlos, just outside the box, the colombian then, looks ahead and spy a spot for George, inside the box and with a defender and the GK, the ST managed to get pass all of them and score the first goal, a really important one. The waters where more collected now.
The team, much more composed, started to develop a higher ratio of inside play, using all the players available. Everybody started to feel more comfortable with the ball, and when those thins happen, you really enjoy much more the game. Watch Foff 1-2 With Pat and taking the his back sprinting up, or Kenny, drawing dribblings here and there was epic.
With 0-1 we walked to the side to get some rest and have a little bit of talk. Today the confidence was high. Everyone seems this year aiming the same goal, the finals. Last year we almost got it.....almost.
Furrowing the galaxy 0-2
The ref blow the whistle and Loko does the serve, but the ball last them 3 seconds, Marco was already riding away with the sphere. It was a declaration of war. Loko was a sentenced. With a entire new face, Pagewood played a Oh so well second half. Ross took definitely the control of the team, surrounded always by Cam. Cam is like the virgin Mary, he can show everywhere, but recently he really enjoys the midfield. Because he has become a "pelotero" a player who increases the passing rate. Feeds Kenny and Marco on the wings, and support the scottish to do his job.
Things happen everywhere, but since at the end, I became a first person involved in the 0-2, I can tell you that Kenny's pass is cosmic. So everything happens when Carlos, Ross and Kenny are playing in the far right, and they do a triangulation to Kenny who starts a run forward, at this point, the spaniard crosses the field in diagonal, behind the entire defence, and Kenny with a magic touch smokes a ball in between 6 players, Marco controls, drop a defender and with his left scores the 2nd.
All this poetry and it was the 2nd minute of the 2nd half. Spiritual isn't
0-3 A goal of persistent, a game of standards.
That goal killed the game, but Pagewood this second half did play one of his best games. For moments everybody was in communication with everybody, and this adds a good vibe. Players got more confidence, and became more interested in make that statement that says.... "If we have the ball, they can't score". Today we make them run. They run behind the ball, chasing shadows. When Ross founds collaboration the world become a better place, because the chances happen.
The 0-3 came after a free quick that Ian put from his own half, over everybody, except Carlos. The Colombian didn't score today, but deserve a mention too, as he did play well, fight, and generate spaces, and creating chances, unfortunately he went home empty, but from his shot, came the third goal. Carlos got Ian assistance and download the ball with a great control, oriented to goal, he shot a dry and strong ball that the keeper saved in the last moment, but unfortunately, Marco was smelling bacon. A goal of striker, don't stop, you never know when you can be useful.
From here, the team didn't stop attacking, far from that. George offered a lot of help, putting so many balls on the deck with his big shoulders. He enjoyed playing with the team, as he found some spaces when combining.
Ross did almost scored the goal of the season. The post didn't allowed. Damn! That was a massive goal!
Although that the team deserved a better score, the defence allowed a goal that should at the end be a goal. Just stop for a second and remember who did the assistance to the striker that scored.......yes.
A little bit to cocky sometimes!
0-1 George (Carlos) 0-2 Marco (Kenny) 0-3 Marco 1-3 Loko
MVP of the game
3-Kenny
2-Marco
1-Ross
RED: The goal.
Although that it was a beautiful goal, the team play of Loko went on a way that can't happen. The player who did stop the ball outside the box (twice) drop a defender and squeeze a ball to the ST, is being fair, waaaaaaaaaaay to out of shape to do this. This lack of intensity when we are winning can be dangerous in the future.
Orange: The first 20 min
Yes, it was Friday at 7:30, and it was cold and dinner was ready at home, but we have to play our game since the beginning, and sometimes we let the other team mess around to much. Until that point that we player his game.
We need to be convinced that if we want we actually can beat teams by playing as a team, together, with the ball.
Green: Second half and 3 goals.
The second half was very close to excellent, except some mistakes or moments. But we got 3 more points, and 3 more goals (30), and when Jason plays as a LB, is important that the other players take responsibility, Carlos and Marco are starting to add those extra goals, apart from the Crane ones.
Also, mention that every player did play a good game, taking his task with order and discipline.
John 8: Big Papa. You shut up and listen, I don't know your names and I don't care about them, I will call you for your number so pay attention. Professional as fuck, he showed temperance. He couldn't do anything in the goal, as it was a screamer, but saved the 2-3 with a magisterial hand in the last moment. Badass
Jack 7: Joker. He played in the RB, but was a constant pain in the ass for Loko. Once he found his tune, he navigates the waters with class. An option attacking, good in the dribbling and smart in the pass. Perfect partner for Kenny and good tool for the MD. Bandit
Darren 8: The rock. I can hear his voice, loud and clear, telling to everyone what is going on around. Loko strikers will put a rastraining order over him. Tactically perfect, and secure in the tackle. He knows where you live...if you are a striker...RUN
Ian 8: Chuck Norris. A cobra bite Ian once....after a long agony, the cobra died. Ian will kick your ass if you try to sneak around him. As a CB as good as a MD, no problem for our captain, first men, and loyal soldier. Also adds the fact that plays the ball wisely.
Jason 7: Black mamba. Sacrificed as a LB he put a hint of temperance in the LB. If he is a Crane in attack, he is not less in defence, high as the eiffel tower, supervises everything. Nobody took him for speed and in the second half had his chances to score a couple of goals playing in his natural habitat. Participative and always able to play
Ross 9: Aerodynamic. Is like a solar eclipse, he comes once in a while, but you always expect something beautiful from him. He never will fail you. He can play on a square, always creating passes and chances, moves the team up and down and capitalises the attacks. He cant score normal goals, as his best chances came from long shots, and free kicks. Only screamers allowed...but he is close...
I saw him today dropping a defender by using his hand, as a distraction, pointing a direction. Porno
Cam 8: Red bull. I know that iv'e already use this nickname for him, but Red bull has officially changed his brand sentence to "Red bull give you cams". He's tired of being a defender, so he decided to create a new position for himself, Midfielder wing that push forward and defence as a spartan, what we say in spain "Todocampista". This new Cam rocks.
Kenny 9: Bohemian. He is on his best moment by far. Key player on the past games, moves around on his own peace, touching the ball with talent and skill, also has the balls of play with his head up. When that happen he can see passes that you only do on PS3. Can break the field with a simple movement and plays along with his team mates with easy and fluid passes. MVP for a reason, one assistance, and he went back home doing dribblings inside the car. Sniper
Foff 8: Barbarian. He's not really tall, but he doesn't care much. He jump and fight all the air balls that Loko drop on his zone, and he win them all. Today ran up on down the field, being one more in attack, Great with the ball in the feet, contributing to the general passing system. This animal did a massive game in defence, in attack....His girlfriend is scared, as Foff maybe still doing tackles at home.
Marco 9: Salsero. After waste 15min on the first half, he came back from the bench with the lesson learned. From there, and always supported by his team mates, he managed to make a mess in the Lokomotive defence, scored 2 goals, the first after make himself a space in between de defenders, and the second, a pure ST goal, hunting in the box. Very dangerous on the last 1/4 of the pitch being able to break coming from the left, and also using George as a boyant. On fire.
Carlos 7: Pugil. Like a boxer, he stood until the last round, doing a huge effort in attack. Always being the first man when pressing. Well communicated all the time with his mates, although that this time he couldn't score, even when he was so close in a couple of chances, one of them become the 0-3 after the goalkeeper showed a good save. From left to right, he broomed Loko's defence. Brave
George 8: Powerful. Positive surprise. A striker that brings more brute force in attack, as, like Carlos, are two players tough to play against. He started a bit lost, until he played as a striker. From there, he scored a nice goal in the first half, the 0-1. The breaking point. On the second half, he had a couple of more chances, but more important, he was a team player. Never selfish and trying to be one more of the team. Chapo

Patt 7: Duke Nukem. He had to play on the wings, dealing with some damage as Loko was increasing his intensity in defence. A less visual match than the last one, although that he left some quality details, and as he's been showing lately, a good passing skills.
